IoT Dev Labs and Internet of Things DC are excited to be part of the team in Montgomery County, Maryland that's exploring how to use connected devices to improve the health and well-being of aging residents in the county.
The project is called SCALE, which stands for Safe Community Alerting Network. It's exploring three realms: Healthy Air, Healthy Water and Healthy Bodies.
Montgomery County's Chief Innovation Officer - Dan Hoffman - is leading the team of 20 companies and organizations. The effort is an evolution of the successful SCALE 1 project conducted during 2013-2014.
The SCALE project is part of the Global City Teams Challenge, a worldwide initiative organized by the National Institute of Standards (NIST).
